The Last Dance: Final Days of Bay Meadows (Part 3) (Bay Meadows' last race)

More notes: in the paddock, in stall four, that's where Chelle and I got married on August 15. In the last race at Bay Meadows, the Last Dance Stakes, the winning horse--number 6, You Lift Me Up--went on to win her next race down south. Finally, we drove by Bay Meadows last weekend, and it's gone. The place is just a pile of twisted metal, rebar, and splintered wood.

Well, there IS always that first Saturday in May. ;-)

You'd better get your butt over to Churchill Downs and enter the ticket lottery. Several times.

So, is it just because I'm a newly wed or because I'm a hopeless romantic or because I am a bit ignorant about horses---but why aren't their more comments about the wedding????? -smile-

Blessings and joy to the happy couple! Oh, and great horsey stuff too...

Norma, in the video or here in the comments? If here, it's cause the wedding was OLD news! Actually, Chelle and I kept it very small because we had a civil union in Vermont a few years ago and then a big reception here, back in the Bay Area, at Bay Meadows. We really didn't want to get a second round of gifts. ;-)

Blessings and joy to YOU, too! How exciting!

I still am bummed Prop 8 passed here in California. Can you imagine? Getting legally married and then having a group of voters say sorry, your relationship doesn't count. ::shaking head::

Oh, well, we're hoping the state Supreme Court tosses that right back out.

I do hate that whole Prop 8 thing too. I was so dismayed here (florida) when it didn't pass this time. I strongly suspect it was more because a no vote meant yes than because people were against it....Ah Florida and voting, it's always good entertainment.

PS--One is never together too long not to be newlyweds...

What a beautiful thought! "Never together too long not to be newlyweds." May this always be so!
