Rush Windbag

Oh, so Rush "Windbag" Limbaugh says that any Iraqi veteran who is critical of the war in Iraq is a "phony" soldier. He should know what a phony soldier is for sure, having never donned a uniform in his entire life. Well, here's one of those phony soldiers with an answer for ole Rushie Poo. And here's another.

Unfortunately you are generating your post from only part of the story. Limbaugh was not referring to "any Iraqi veteran." That is the Readers Digest version of the event and way off the mark.

But I didn't say "any Iraqi veteran." I said "any Iraqi veteran who is critical of the war." This is what has been paraphrased in the news articles I've read. If that's not what he said, what did he say?

Never mind--good grief, there are all kinds of clips over on Youtube, with accusations flying that Limbaugh edited out over a minute of his "replaying" of what he said originally and blah blah blah. It's just more of the same darn grandstanding on both sides, what with Congress calling for a condemnation of his remarks and such. What a colossal waste of time and energy. It's no different from all the hoopla over that MoveOn.org ad. The conclusion I draw from all of this is that the Iraqi War has done pretty much nothing but rip this country right in half. After 9-11, we were united, and most of the rest of the world was with us. Now? We are horribly divided, and much of the rest of the world sees us as oil-grabbing occupiers, with companies like Halliburton and Bechtel capitalizing on the chaos. Some days I just want to throw my hands up and walk away from it all. :-(

While I disagree with your conclusion, I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts on it being a colossal waste of time and energy.
