Coulter Needs to Cork It, Now!

Hasn't anybody taught Ann Coulter that when you say something obnoxious and are called on it, it's hardly a good idea to start explaining why what you said isn't offensive? Now she's saying that her calling John Edwards a "faggot" is not offensive because "the word [she] used has nothing to do with sexual preference. It is a schoolyard taunt."

Arrrgh! I find this so ignorant that I can't even articulate a thoughtful response. So, I'll just let Uncle Sam give her a spanking and leave it you to go visit Pam Spaulding's post on this, an eloquent rejoinder. And remember, whenever you see the word "faggot" in red, click on the link and read about a recent incident in which a person was brutually attacked for being a "faggot."

Oh yeah. Nothin' but a harmless, meaningless schoolyard taunt.

Postscript: Arianna Huffington speculates here that this one might be Ann Coulter's "Macaca Moment."
